Build

The parts supplied in this stage will not be needed until the next pack arrives, so keep them stored somewhere safe for now:

Building the Bonnet Reinforcement Structure (2)

Step 1

Retrieve all of your parts and screws supplied with Stage 78. Lay the large Bonnet Reinforcement Frame on your work surface with the mounting posts facing up, as shown:

Step 2

Press the locating pin of the Left Support into this left-side hole of the Bonnet Reinforcement Frame and align the screw hole as shown:

I gently nudged the Left Support until this edge was flush with the Reinforcement Frame:

Secure this Left Support into place with one (1) Type B screw:

Step 3

Repeat the previous process to secure the Right Support to the other side of the Bonnet Reinforcement Frame using one (1) Type B screw:

Step 4

Retrieve your Bonnet Bulkhead/Crossbar assembly from the previous stage. Align the four mounting tabs of this assembly over the matching posts of the Bonnet Reinforcement Frame, as shown:

Secure the Bulkhead/Crossbar assembly to the Reinforcement Frame with four (4) Type B screws:

Step 5

Press the pin of each Perforated Plate into the matching post of the other Perforated Plate, orientating them as shown:

Step 6

Turn your entire Bonnet Reinforcement Frame assembly over. Then, press the tab of this Perforated Plate assembly into this slot of the Bonnet Inner Bulkhead.

Note the angle at which this is installed – it is designed to be parallel with the Bonnet Side Crossbars, as shown. And, while this tab was a snug fit on my model, I still chose to use a tiny drop of super glue here to make sure it stayed in place:

Thoughts

It is important that this entire assembly is built correctly. Any parts installed backwards or upside down may cause interference when we mount the Front Body to the model in a future stage.
