Build

The parts supplied in this stage will not be needed until the next stage, so keep them stored somewhere safe for now. If you saved your Front Right Wheel Hub bag (marked ‘R’) from the previous stage, this is what I used to keep them together and identified:

Fitting the Front Wheel Hubs

Front Right Wheel Hub
Step 1

Retrieve your two Wheel Hub assemblies (and the Type F screws) from the previous stage. As a quick reminder, this picture should help show which side is which:

Step 2

Retrieve your Front Frame assembly from Stage 64. Fit the lower post of the Front Right Wheel Hub into this hole of the Front Right Lower Wishbone Arm, as shown:

Fit the free eyelet of the Right Steering Arm over the extended arm of the Front Right Wheel Hub, as shown.

This connection should not be stiff as it will affect the steering. On my model, I used a round needle file to remove some of the paint from the inside of the Steering Arm eyelet to make this a smoother fit:

Lower the Front Right Upper Wishbone Arm down onto the top post of the Front Right Wheel Hub, as shown:

Step 3

Secure the Upper Wishbone Arm to the Wheel Hub with one (1) Type F screw.

Do not over-tighten these screws as the Wheel Hub should be able to pivot about the screws:

In the same way, secure the Lower Wishbone Arm to the Wheel Hub with one (1) more Type F screw:

Front Left Wheel Hub
Step 4

The left side is assembled in the same way. Fit the lower post of the Front Left Wheel Hub into the Front Left Lower Wishbone Arm:

Fit the free eyelet of the Left Steering Arm over the extended arm of the Front Left Wheel Hub, and lower the Front Left Upper Wishbone Arm down onto the top post of the Wheel Hub, as shown.

On my model, I used a round needle file to remove some of the paint from the inside of the Steering Arm eyelet on this side as well:

Step 5

Secure the Upper Wishbone Arm to the Wheel Hub with one (1) Type F screw.

Do not over-tighten these screws as the Wheel Hub should be able to pivot about the screws:

And as before, secure the Lower Wishbone Arm to the Wheel Hub with one (1) more Type F screw:

Thoughts

With this stage behind us now, we have completed the front suspension of our Lamborghini Miura. We have also completed Pack 8. Keep both sets of Brake Discs and Calipers stored safely – we will install them at the beginning of Pack 9.
