Fitting Details to the Central Console

Step 1

Retrieve your Cockpit Floor assembly from the previous stage. Press the two pins of the Ashtray Frame into the matching holes at this location on the Central Console.

There is a curved lip on this Ashtray Frame (arrow below) – this lip should be towards the front of the car, as shown:

Step 2

Press the two pins of the Handbrake Lever into the matching holes at this left-rear location on the Central Console:

Step 3

On the right side of the Central Console, press the two slots in the bottom the Passenger Handle onto the matching tabs, as shown. These slots/tabs are different sizes, so this will only fit correctly in one orientation.

Once installed, the two small ‘screw’ details on this Passenger Handle should face towards where the Passenger Seat will be:

Step 4

Before we start Step 4, make a note of the orientation of this small D-shaped hole in the round gear shifter section of the Central Console. The matching D-shaped post of the Gear Lever will be inserted into this hole during Step 5:

Gently press the four pins of the Gear Selector Grid into the matching holes around the round gear shifter section of the Central Console. There is a small raised circular detail on the Grid (arrow below) that should be facing the passenger side of the console, as shown.

The pins on this Gear Selector Grid are slightly different thicknesses, so they may need to be sanded a bit to make sure this part fits flush and to allow assembly without bending the Grid out of shape:

Step 5

Gently press the D-shaped post of the Gear Lever down through the Gear Selector Grid and into the matching hole of the Central Console.

This Gear Lever has a slight bend. When installed correctly, the shifter knob should lean towards the driver’s side of the car and to the rear, as shown:

Thoughts

The more details we add to our interior Cockpit Floor assembly, the better it looks. I especially love the tiny Lamborghini bull emblem pre-installed in the top of the Gear Lever knob!
